In the wake of the devastating fire in Cape Town’s Khayelitsha on Saturday the 20th October, 2018 – local comedians have banded together, using their wit, banter and mildly successful organising skills to bring you hilarious line ups of some of SA’s best comedians (who all happen to be proudly Capetonian too). All proceeds will go to the Khayelitsha fire relief and there will be donation points at all of the gigs where you can bring food, school-books, blankets or clothes to donate.
The first show kicks off at 8pm on Wednesday the 24th October at The Station on Bree, 207 Bree Street and costs R100. You’ll get to see Internationally acclaimed, and award winning comedians like Conrad Koch, KG Mokgadi, Angel Campey, Phil De Lange, Mum-Z, Dylan Skews and Chantal Venter. Who have more SAFTAs, Comics Choice Awards, International Emmy Nominations and other fancy statues between them than you can swing a cat at! (Please don’t swing cats, they don’t like it.) Book Here
Muizenberg gets their turn to laugh for a great cause on Friday 26th October at The Hive, 37 Palmer Road where R100 will get you the likes of KG Mokgadi, Conrad Koch, Keenan Cerff, Milo Hotchocolate, AD Saayman and others. Another stellar line up of award winning comedians, some of which even Trevor Noah thinks is funny.
There will be a final, big, fancy, bells and whistles and more cats to swing (again, don’t!) Charity event at the Cape Town Comedy Club (the Pumphouse at the V&A Waterfront), on Tuesday the 6th November 2018. Details and that line up is still to be announced, because it’s big. Super big, and shiny, full of famous funny people, and lots of ooh and aah moments…. and there will be raffles and things to win for you, and even more ways you can give back to the community that has been so devastated by the fire. Block it in your diary, now.
See you at one, or all three. The comedians promise a blazing night of comedy – because the only place they want to hear about a blaze is on a stage.
